Since its inception in 2006, Fade In Student Filmakers Competition has brought new and exciting work to Irish audiences through the work of young filmakers through their talent and love of cinema. Fade In is Ireland's premier competiton for young film makers as they explore the convergence of film and technology.

Digital filmmaking techniques have become increasingly universal, they have revolutionised contemporary film- making. In response to this the Fade In competition has become focused on work that challenges; visual aesthetic, narrative, methods of production and dialogue through these modern filmmaking techniques.
