FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
the hangout, all weather clothesline, photo of clothes hanging on the line
Will The Hangout blow down?
No .The Hangout is a permanent solid structure. There is no place on The Hangout that will catch the wind. The wind just passes through. The unique design of the steel frame allows it to flex slightly in stormy conditions.
Will the rain blow in on the clothes?
Rain very seldom falls straight down but it is blown horizontally even less often. Usually the rain falls at an angle. Because The Hangout covers an area eight ft by eight ft there is sufficient overhang to protect the clothes from the rain. We are all familiar with an umbrella, an umbrella will keep your head and shoulders dry. The clothes on The Hangout will be tucked in under the roof at shoulder height.
Do the chairs come with the line?
No! but we are currently sourcing a good quality chair that we will be able to supply at a good price
How long will it take The Hangout to pay for itself?
An average load in a tumble drier will cost about one euro. If used once daily The Hangout will have paid for itself within four years.
How long will it last?
The Hangout is guaranteed for ten years. All the components are suitably treated for exterior use and in reality will last much longer.
How many washes will fit on the line?
There is forty metres of rope on each Hangout. There is enough room to hang up to six washes at any one time.
Where is the product manufactured?
Ballingarry, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.
Can the height of the clothes line be adjusted?
We can set the height of the clothes line to what ever you want. It is just a mater of digging a deeper hole when we are installing it. Once the height is set it can not be adjusted again.
What about drying sheets?
It is possible to hang sheets for a double bed on the outer ropes. But on wet windy days you will have to fold and hang them on the inner ropes. Unlike a conventional line you are not looking for a gap between the showers. The folded sheet might take a little longer to dry but it will be dry when you are ready to take it in.
